Huskies earn season split with Badgers

MIDDLEFIELD–Cardinal avenged an early-season loss to rival Berkshire with an exciting 3-2 win over the Badgers on Thursday.

The Huskies improved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the Chagrin Valley Conference with a 20-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-21, 15-13 win.

Lindsay Hissa and Jess Proch led the Huskies with 14 and 13 kills, respectively, while Karalyn Rutkowski posted a team-best 11 blocks. Alaina Strever posted a team-high 33 digs and Ronee Collins recorded four service aces.

Berkshire dropped to 9-4, 4-2.

Mollee Chapman once again powered Berkshire’s attack with 27 kills and also contributed with 21 assists, 13 digs and 13 service points with four aces. Delaney Tucek added 36 digs and Maddie Smetana added 16 kills, four aces and four blocks.
